For a sum of between 700 and 800 lire, they bought a small plot of land, characterised by steep terraces overlooking the sea, where a ruin stood. Here, amidst dreams and hopes, they decided to give life to their project: to build a restaurant with a dance hall, to which they would later add a hotel, realising their desire to transform a corner of paradise into a place of welcome and hospitality.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/div><\/div>

Our story is that of a family that has always believed in the importance of hospitality, the genuine kind, made up of seriousness, passion for our work and, above all, simplicity. From 1994 to today, the tradition continues thanks to Marco Regine and his son Fabrizio Regine, representatives of the third and fourth generation of the family. With dedication and commitment, Marco and Fabrizio are the custodians of a history rooted in a past full of values and unforgettable moments.

\n\t\t\t\tThe story of Umberto a Mare began in the first half of the 1900s, when two young lovers, Grandfather Umberto Castellaccio and Grandmother Gaetanina Mattera, bought a plot of land near the Church of the Madonna del Soccorso. For a sum of between 700 and 800 lire, they bought a small plot of land, characterised by steep terraces overlooking the sea, where a ruin stood. Here, amidst dreams and hopes, they decided to give life to their project: to build a restaurant with a dance hall, to which they would later add a hotel, realising their desire to transform a corner of paradise into a place of welcome and hospitality.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/div><\/div>

After years of sacrifice, work finally comes to life. But it is in the post-war period that Umberto a Mare, as we know it today, begins to take shape. Year after year, with patience and determination, the family builds its future. Our story is that of a family that has always believed in the importance of hospitality, the genuine kind, made up of seriousness, passion for our work and, above all, simplicity. From 1994 to today, the tradition continues thanks to Marco Regine and his son Fabrizio Regine, representatives of the third and fourth generation of the family. With dedication and commitment, Marco and Fabrizio are the custodians of a history rooted in a past full of values and unforgettable moments.

\n\t\t\t\t1936 is the year that marks the realisation of that long-desired dream. After years of sacrifice, work finally comes to life. But it is in the post-war period that Umberto a Mare, as we know it today, begins to take shape. Year after year, with patience and determination, the family builds its future. In the 1970s, three of their eight children - Angela, Vittorio and Ottavio - took over the running of the restaurant, carrying on the tradition of hospitality and quality, until 1994.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/div><\/div>

Our story is that of a family that has always believed in the importance of hospitality, the genuine kind, made up of seriousness, passion for our work and, above all, simplicity. From 1994 to today, the tradition continues thanks to Marco Regine and his son Fabrizio Regine, representatives of the third and fourth generation of the family. With dedication and commitment, Marco and Fabrizio are the custodians of a history rooted in a past full of values and unforgettable moments.
